Handling of faults in water-cooled chillers

If a water-cooled chiller that the user is running suddenly malfunctions, the first step should be to shut down the chiller. Then, a thorough on-site inspection of the chiller should be conducted to understand the working conditions of each component of the water-cooled chiller at the time of the malfunction, determine which part of the water-cooled chiller has malfunctioned and the extent of its damage. After determining the course of the malfunction of the water-cooled chiller and taking emergency measures, the operator of the water-cooled chiller should promptly contact the manufacturer of the water-cooled chiller and provide a detailed description of the location and condition of the malfunction. Only after the factory arranges for maintenance technicians to arrive at the site can they personally start up the water-cooled chiller or auxiliary devices that, although faulty, can still operate for a short period of time without further worsening the fault, in order to accurately analyze the cause of the fault and obtain a precise intuitive understanding basis.

To ensure that the water-cooled chiller can operate normally, safely and stably for 24 hours a day, it is recommended to configure an additional water-cooled chiller as a backup when conditions permit. Even if one of the water-cooled chillers inevitably malfunctions due to long-term operation, the backup water-cooled chiller can still be started to work. It will not affect users' demand for refrigeration.

The difference in installation between the two is that water-cooled chillers need to be connected to a cooling tower to be used, while air-cooled chillers are mobile and do not require any additional assistance. But air-cooled chillers only rely on fans for heat dissipation, and their environmental requirements are ventilation, humidity, and temperature not exceeding 40℃.
